It’s never been easier to build powerful, scalable apps.
Integrating Xano with Softr
When you connect your Xano database to Softr, you unlock a whole new set of possibilities — no coding or technical background required.
Xano’s database gives you the power to source and manage large datasets with the simplicity of a spreadsheet. You can then use that data to build out dashboards, portals, and internal tools in Softr. Create fast with drag-and-drop elements, all while leveraging total design freedom.
In this step-by-step guide, we show you how to connect Xano to Softr — and start building in minutes.
Pre-requisites
Before we start, make sure you have the following:
- Xano account with a Starter or Pro plan.
- Xano Database Connector: This feature is an add-on available for our Launch and Scale plans. It enables you to connect your Xano database with external apps and services, like Softr. Learn more.
- Softr account with any plan.
Step 1: Configure within Xano
In order for Softr to access your Xano instance, you first need to configure the Database Connector.
- From your Xano dashboard, click on the settings icon next to the instance that you want to connect to Softr.
- Select Database Connector from the menu on the right.
- Click the GET buttons next to “Database Public IP” and “Database Credentials”.
- Save your database credentials in a secure location. They’re hidden for security purposes, but you can reveal them when you check the box next to Show credentials.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Click on the +Add button.
- Paste in Softr’s three IP addresses, and then click the Save button. Softr’s IP addresses are:
- 3.120.79.212
- 3.123.159.186
- 52.58.246.121
Step 2: Connect within Softr
After you have everything set up within Xano, you can connect your database within Softr. You can edit this connection in your Softr dashboard at any time.
- From your Softr dashboard, select Data sources from the menu on the left.
- Click the Connect data source button in the upper-right-hand corner.
- Select Xano.
- Fill in the Name field with whatever name you want. Ensure the Port field is “5432”.
- In the remaining fields, copy and paste your database credentials from Xano. Before you paste in the credentials, make sure that they’re unhidden.
- You have both full-access and read-access credentials from the Database Connector. Softr recommends that you always input the full-access credentials, so you don’t need to re-authenticate if you enhance your app’s capabilities.
- The field mappings are as follows:
- Host: corresponds to “host” from the credentials.
- Database: corresponds to “database”.
- User: corresponds to “user”.
- Password: corresponds to “pass”.
- Click the Connect button in the lower-right-hand corner.
Great work! You’ve successfully connected your Xano database with Softr.
With this combination of Xano and Softr, it’s never been easier to create powerful, scalable apps. Happy building!
